What to do if you have a bench warrant in the State of Pennsylvania

A bench warrant means that there is a warrant for your arrest. There are three reasons why an individual would have a warrant out for their arrest. First, there are charges currently pending against an individual that have been filed and a warrant has been signed by a judge to arrest the person. Winning cases that others were afraid to take

While standing outside a Philadelphia bar, Jack was harassed by a group of rowdy drunks. He took the high road and did his best to ignore them. Later that night, as he and his girlfriend were walking to his car, this group came speeding at him in their car. Jack recognized the driver as the same person with whom he had argued earlier. The car struck Jack. He was dragged down the street, knocked unconscious, and transported to the emergency room. (more…)


University disciplinary actions

Increasingly, universities are becoming harsher and more formal in their discipline of students. Gone are the days when punishments were informal with few repercussions. Even though a student may not formally be charged with criminal charges by the government, the repercussions of a school disciplinary proceeding can be harsh. Students can face disciplinary actions for minor offenses, drug charges, property damage, physical or sexual assault, and other crimes. (more…)

Victory for man wrongfully arrested and abused

In early 2008, a Philadelphia man was walking down the street, minding his own business and speaking on his phone, when the police stopped him and stated they needed to speak with him. Concerned that he may owe child support and be detained, the man exercised his constitutional right not to stop and continued walking. The police attempted to grab him and the man sprinted. As the police began to chase him, allegedly, a woman stated to the police that he had a gun. He continued running and according to police, pointed the gun at them. The police shot at him three times and hit him once, and he fell to the ground. After falling, he continued trying to evade, (more…)


Not guilty verdict

Jury found a Philadelphia woman accused of aggravated assault not guilty last week.

In January of 2012, a Philadelphia woman was attending a Beef and Beer fundraiser at her neighborhood bar with family and friends. She encountered several young, drunk women that began a fistfight with her. The young women were escorted out of the bar but her troubles were not over. Another group of the young (more…)
